Terms of Sale
Commercial terms for Backfetch, LLC’s prepaid request credits, usage and automatic recharge.
Version · English
1. Purchases from Backfetch, LLC
These Terms of Sale govern purchases of BackFetch credits and paid Services from Backfetch, LLC. They supplement the Terms of Use. The amount and the number of requests displayed at checkout, and any separately agreed written order, determine your purchase. In a conflict about a commercial matter, an expressly agreed order takes priority, followed by these Terms of Sale and then the Terms of Use.
You must be authorized to make purchases and use the selected payment method for the workspace. Creating an account or accepting these terms does not itself make a payment or enable automatic recharge.
2. Prices and request credits
Self-service purchases are priced and charged in US dollars. Your bank may apply its own conversion rate or fees. Each purchase adds a fixed number of requests to the selected workspace; the workspace holds a balance of requests, not of money. The price per 1,000 requests depends on the amount of that purchase, according to the price tiers shown on the pricing page and before payment. The number of requests is calculated at purchase and shown before you pay. A product’s documentation states how its usage is counted in requests; for example, a search that asks for more results can count as several requests.
Applicable taxes and the final payable amount must be disclosed at checkout or in the agreed order. Provide accurate billing and tax information. You remain responsible for taxes you are legally required to account for directly, while BackFetch remains responsible for taxes imposed on its own income.
Price changes apply only to purchases made after they are published. They do not change the number of requests already credited to your workspace. Purchased requests do not expire.
3. Request credits and metering
A manual purchase is a one-time purchase of request credits for the selected workspace. Requests are added after the payment is confirmed, which may occur after your browser returns from checkout. Keep the payment reference if the balance does not update. Request credits are only for BackFetch usage; they are not a bank deposit, stored monetary value, transferable currency or an investment, and they cannot be exchanged for cash except through a refund under section 6 or where the law requires it.
Requests in progress may temporarily reserve requests and reduce the available balance. Each committed billable request is deducted from the balance under the applicable product rules; released reservations restore the available balance. A completed billable operation can remain chargeable if your client disconnects before receiving its response. Repeated requests can produce separate charges unless an applicable API explicitly supports deduplication.
The dashboard shows the request balance and transaction history. Any free monthly allowance is used before purchased requests, does not roll over and has no cash value. Promotional credits are separate from requests paid for and have no cash refund value. Any promotion-specific conditions must be disclosed with the offer. Do not create multiple accounts to obtain a benefit intended to be granted once.
4. Payment and invoices
Payments and saved payment methods are handled through Stripe. Review the amount and payment details before confirming checkout. Saving a card alone does not enable automatic recharge. We receive payment status and limited payment-method details needed for billing; card entry takes place with the payment provider.
You agree to receive invoices, receipts and billing notices electronically. Failed, reversed or disputed payments may cause the corresponding requests to be withheld or removed, and access may be restricted if there are not enough available requests. We will investigate reported billing errors using the payment and usage records.
5. Optional automatic recharge
Automatic recharge runs only when an authorized workspace member enables it. By saving enabled recharge settings, you authorize a charge of the recharge amount to the selected saved cards each time the request balance falls below your chosen threshold, within the card limits shown in the dashboard. Each recharge credits the number of requests that its amount buys under the price tiers in effect when it is charged. A recharge can be split across selected cards in their configured order.
You can change the settings or disable future recharges in Billing. Disabling future recharge does not reverse usage or payments already initiated. A charge may require bank authentication, fail, remain pending or pause for review. A configured threshold does not guarantee uninterrupted service. Review dashboard notices before resuming or cancelling the unpaid part of a recharge.
6. Billing questions and refunds
Contact Backfetch, LLC about an incorrect charge or a request concerning unused purchased credits, identifying the workspace, payment reference and reason without sending full card details. Refund requests are reviewed against the payment record, remaining paid balance, any written order and applicable law. Do not assume that stopping usage or deleting a user account automatically issues a refund.
Usage already delivered is not ordinarily refundable simply because the output does not suit a later purpose. Duplicate or erroneous charges and any refund required by law will be corrected. Approved refunds are returned through the original payment method where possible, and the requests bought with the refunded amount are removed from the workspace in proportion to that amount, even if the balance becomes negative. Bank processing time may vary. This section does not restrict mandatory cancellation, withdrawal or other consumer rights where they apply.
7. Ending paid use
Buying request credits does not create a subscription or any recurring commitment. You can stop new usage and disable automatic recharge at any time. Amounts for completed usage remain payable. If you have a separately agreed commitment or recurring order, its expressly agreed term and cancellation conditions apply.
Suspension, account closure and service discontinuation do not remove legal rights concerning prepaid amounts or defective service. Contact Backfetch, LLC before closing a workspace if you need a billing issue resolved or copies of its invoices. The Terms of Use govern other responsibilities, limitations and changes to the Services.
